Study trail for this level: Insurance Underwriting

  • Risk Selection & Appetite

Why: Lets you decide within your own authority, and decline or reshape a borderline account while keeping the broker relationship.

  • Loss History Analysis

Why: Lets you develop loss triangles and separate ALAE from ULAE to judge whether an account's loss trend is improving or only immature.

  • Property Underwriting

Why: Lets you weigh construction, occupancy, protection and catastrophe exposure to price a warehouse or plant in a flood or wind zone.

  • Casualty Underwriting

Why: Lets you choose occurrence or claims-made and set retroactive dates, so a long-tail liability claim years later falls on the right policy.

  • Professional Liability & D&O

Why: Lets you read a D&O or E&O structure, including Side A, B and C, and tell what protects the individual and what protects the company.

  • Cyber Liability Underwriting

Why: Lets you assess a company's controls against ransomware and breach exposure before quoting, since threats shift faster than the form.
