What each level must prove

Mid-level

Measures exposure, chooses how to treat it and sets up the indicators and reports that keep it visible.

You facilitate the workshops yourself, build quantitative models where scoring is not enough and recommend what to do about each risk. What changes from junior is that you are asked to justify a treatment with cost and to warn early through indicators.

Average score required: 67%

Study trail for this level: Risk Management

  • Risk Assessment Workshops

Why: Lets you get a room of senior people to agree on ratings and leave with owners and actions, instead of a long list nobody follows up.

  • Quantitative Risk Modeling

Why: Lets you express a risk as a loss range with Monte Carlo or value-at-risk, so a manager can compare it with the cost of mitigation.

  • Risk Aggregation

Why: Lets you see that several moderate risks share one supplier or one system, so their combined exposure is larger than the sum read separately.

  • Risk Treatment Strategy

Why: Lets you recommend whether to avoid, reduce, insure or accept a risk and show the cost-benefit behind it, for instance insurance versus a new control.

  • Control Design & Effectiveness

Why: Lets you pair a preventive and a detective control for a risk and judge whether together they bring it within acceptable levels.

  • Key Risk Indicators

Why: Lets you pick an indicator and a threshold that trigger action before a loss happens, so the signal comes before the incident report.

  • Risk Dashboard & Reporting

Why: Lets you give the board a one-page view of top risks while the operational team gets the detail, each audience seeing what it can act on.
