What each level must prove

Mid-level

Accountable for running sourcing events and supplier relationships on your own and for the commercial terms you sign.

You own an RFP from design to award, negotiate the contract, and then manage the supplier through scorecards and business reviews. What changes from junior is that you decide how to buy and defend the terms, not only process the order.

Average score required: 65%

Study trail for this level: Procurement & Vendor Management

  • RFI, RFP & RFQ Management

Why: Lets you pick between RFI, RFP and RFQ for a complex service and write requirements so bids can be compared fairly at award.

  • Supplier Evaluation & Selection

Why: Lets you defend a selection to finance and the business with weighted criteria and capability checks, not only price, when a cheaper bidder lost.

  • Supplier Relationship Management

Why: Lets you run joint business reviews and handle escalations with a key supplier so a service dispute does not turn into a broken relationship.

  • Supplier Scorecards & KPIs

Why: Lets you set KPIs and SLAs and open an improvement plan when a supplier keeps missing delivery, backed by data instead of impressions.

  • Commercial Terms & Conditions

Why: Lets you negotiate Incoterms, payment terms, warranties and liability caps in a contract draft and know which clause shifts risk to you.

  • Negotiation Strategy & Tactics

Why: Lets you prepare a negotiation with a BATNA and planned concessions, so you trade value rather than give discounts away in the room.
