What each level must prove

Mid-level

Accountable for planning and delivering a complete event, from brief to reconciliation, with limited supervision.

You own an event end to end: you negotiate with venues and vendors, set ticket pricing, sell sponsors and design the networking and virtual or hybrid parts. Compared with junior work, you now make the trade-offs yourself and answer for the result in the post-event report.

Average score required: 69%

Study trail for this level: Event Management

  • Event Strategy & Objectives

Why: You can turn a vague request like 'we need a conference' into a brief with a format, audience and KPIs, and say no to formats that do not fit the goal.

  • Budgeting & Financial Planning

Why: You can build the full budget and revenue forecast yourself, size the contingency, and reconcile after the event to show where the plan and the actuals diverged.

  • Venue Selection & Logistics

Why: You can negotiate a venue contract and design the floor layout and load-in schedule so the agenda fits the space, not the other way around.

  • Vendor Management

Why: You can run an RFP, pick a vendor on evidence and write service levels into the contract, then hold the vendor to them when delivery slips.

  • Event Marketing & Promotion

Why: You can plan the multi-channel promotion and automation for a whole event and shift effort when registrations lag behind forecast.

  • Registration & Ticketing

Why: You can choose the registration platform, set tier pricing, and decide refund and waitlist rules that protect revenue without angering attendees.

  • Virtual Events

Why: You can pick a platform and plan a webinar or virtual stage, including bandwidth and audience interaction, so a remote session does not stall on a speaker's weak connection.

  • Hybrid Events

Why: You can design a hybrid event where remote attendees get a real experience, not a camera at the back of the room, and price both audiences sensibly.

  • Sponsorship Acquisition

Why: You can build sponsorship tiers, value them and write a proposal that a prospect can compare, then close the deal instead of only forwarding a deck.

  • Networking Facilitation

Why: You can design structured networking such as speed sessions or matchmaking so attendees meet the right people, which is often why they come back next year.

  • Post-Event Analytics & Reporting

Why: You can collect satisfaction and revenue data and report what worked, so the next event's budget request rests on evidence rather than memory.
