Mid-level
Configures Employee Central, security, rules and data loads independently, and delivers a working setup for a defined scope.
You take a requirement, such as hiding a field or loading all employees for go-live, and deliver it in the configuration tools. You also begin to touch other modules at overview level. What changes from junior is that you decide how to implement it and test it yourself.
Average score required: 65%
Employee Central Data Model: Foundation vs People Data
Why: Lets you design where a new piece of data should live, as a Foundation association or a People Data field, and predict how it propagates to employees.
Provisioning vs Admin Center
Why: Lets you know whether a feature switch must be requested through Provisioning or can be changed in Admin Center, so you do not lose days at go-live.
Foundation Objects: Legal Entity, Business Unit, Department & Location
Why: Lets you build the full organization structure for a new legal entity, with effective-dated hierarchies, so reporting lines and permissions follow it.
Generic Objects & Metadata Framework (MDF)
Why: Lets you add a custom object, such as a company asset record, through MDF when standard fields do not cover the requirement, including UI and associations.
RBP Framework: Permission Roles & Permission Groups
Why: Lets you create roles for a new HR team and assign them through groups, instead of per-user grants that become impossible to audit.
Target Populations
Why: Lets you limit an HR partner to their own department or location, and debug a case where a manager sees too many or too few employees.
MDF Business Rules Engine
Why: Lets you build a rule that validates or defaults a field, such as setting a pay grade from job code, without asking for custom development.
Rule Scenarios & Trigger Events (onSave / onChange / onInit)
Why: Lets you pick onInit, onChange or onSave so a rule fires when the user expects, and fix a default that overwrote what the user had typed.
Import & Export Framework for Employee Central
Why: Lets you load employee data for go-live in the right mode, incremental or full purge, and avoid wiping records that should have stayed.
Data Import Templates & File Formats
Why: Lets you prepare the right template for Job Information or Compensation, set effective dates and read an error file to fix a rejected load line by line.
Performance & Goals Module Overview
Why: Lets you take part in a Performance & Goals design talk, explaining form templates, rating scales and how employee data from Employee Central feeds them.
Compensation & Variable Pay Overview
Why: Lets you take part in a merit cycle setup, understanding how salary ranges, guidelines and pay components from Employee Central shape what managers can award.
